Webster's Pages

Hello Everyone,

I am feeling very sad today. It is our last DT meeting tonight. BUMMER!!!!! I can not believe that this year has gone by so fast. I had such a wonderful time being on the DT. I feel like I have learned so much from the other ladies on the team and our wonderful teacher Melissa. I want to thank both Melissa and Janet for giving me the opportunity to be a part of this fabulous experience. The other ladies on the team are the best. We had so much fun at the meetings. Some of the groups nights were a real challenge because we had to finish a complete layout before leaving. I had never made a layout that fast, but we were paired up with another member and it all seemed to come together in the end. It was great.

Now on to my final DT layout. Our challenge this time was to actually use a sketch. I have never really used sketches in the past, but I must say I enjoyed it. We had 4 to choose from and the sketch was actually a one page layout that we had to make into a two page layout. We were given a few embellishments from Webster's Pages and told to use new paper.

Here is my layout:

This is my daughter when she was 16 months old(she is 27 now). When I received the blue cameo I know what picture I was going to use. I love the Webster's paper and all the new embellishments they have.

The gold backgound and blue/white paper is from the Webster's Pages, so is the fabric tag, lace and cameo. The flower paper is SEI, gold Bazzill cardstock, and Tattered Angel tile. I painted the tile with my Ink Pots.

All the flowers, leaves, gold scrolls, gold butterfly and blue bird are Prima. I have Jenny Bowlin buttons. Stick pins and ribbon for the tags. I inked the edges of all the papers & tags. Sewed one end of the lace to gather it and pop dotted a lot of the embellishments. I have to say I really like the way this layout came together.

Thanks for looking! Lisa

Glass Block Night Light

Last weekend I scrapbooked at the Barn in Bourg, LA. I spent the whole weekend with my favorite group of ladies the Mamarazzi's. I know most of you know who these ladies are, but for the ones that don't ........ when we get together there is so much sisterhood, laughter, craziness & a little scrapping. We all have our own styles but are willing to help out each other. I want the say a big THANK YOU to Sam for opening her home to us.

I saw this done on the message board for Cricut. They did a black vinyl frame with an initial in the middle. Since my grand daughters are having their own room now I decided to make them one. They are 3 and 4 yrs old so they go around calling themselves Princesses and they are.

The frame and the crown are from either Storybook or Dreams Come True (can't remember). I welded the design together on my new Gypsy. I love this little machine. I don't know all the ins and outs yet, but I will learn. The thing I like the best is I did not have to bring all my carts with me, just the Gypsy and my Cricut.

After putting the design on the block is when the real fun began. I was able to bling to my heart's content. I cut the backs off of some brads, put pearls, and lots of bling. I have pink tulle inside with a short string of clear Christmas lights. But I think the vinyl will show up better if I put white tulle inside. Just didn't have any on hand. I bought the ribbon and my friend Connie made the bow.

They also have the stands to set the blocks in. I had a great time making this project. I will be making one for my grandson's room. I will be posting other layouts I did this past weekend later. I even did my DT layout. That one you will have to wait until the 18th.

Have a great day.
